Leading manufacturing provider deploys SAP S/4HANA on cloud in quest for a robust, global and scalable ERP system
UCT was originally launched from Mitsubishi Corporation metal’s division to bring Japanese-developed, ultra clean manufacturing techniques to the semiconductor equipment industry in Silicon Valley in the year 1991.Since then, UCT has been global leaders in the design, engineering and manufacturing of critical subsystems and turnkey solutions for leading industries worldwide.UCT focuses on providing original equipment manufacturers with a broad array of services including design, engineering, system assembly, testing, and global supply chain management.
With 100’s of clients and an extensive supply chain, UCT were looking to replace its existing legacy ERP system with a robust, global and scalable solution, to improve visibility across all its business interactions and transactions. UCT also wanted to incorporate a supplier portal that will simplify communication with their supply chain, enabling them to enhance collaboration while optimizing I/T spend.
Manufacturers are in a global race to gain competitive advantage and optimize their supply chains by leveraging the latest digital technologies. To realize benefits from these technologies, UCT partnered with Mactores to upgrade and deploy SAP S/4 HANA on cloud
When SAP S/4HANA met business requirements in a test performance in the cloud, Mactores worked closely with UCT to migrate its’ SAP workload using AWS Virtual Machines for installing and configuring SAP on cloud.
Mactores performed a Full-scale move to SAP S/4HANA for UCT. It involved a complete migration of their existing legacy system to cloud. During this migration, the standalone SAP tools & procedures for deploying SAP systems on the cloud were used. The entire process was completed in a span of three days.
UCT partnered with Mactores and AWS to underpin their digital transformation. Migrating to SAP S/4 Hana helped UCT to streamline operations and gain visibility in the supply chain. With SAP S/4 Hana, UCT’s analytics and transactions are stored on a single platform, helping to decrease turnaround time for quotes and improving the reliability of committed delivery dates to customers.
Running SAP on Cloud
Lower TCO : Benefit from the economies of scale and efficiencies provided by cloud read about savings of up to 60% compared to their on-premise ERP system.
Replace CapEx with OpEx : UCT could start their SAP implementation on Cloud without any upfront cost or commitment for compute, storage, or network infrastructure.
Agility and speed : UCT were able to provision additional servers/infrastructure and SAP systems in minutes compared to waiting weeks or months to procure and deploy traditional infrastructure.
Stop guessing capacity : UCT eliminated the guesswork on their SAP infrastructure capacity needs. With AWS they can access as much or as little capacity as they need, and scale up and down as required in only a few minutes.
